I bought some of Allens 5wt fly line last year. Wow. Probably the best I've ever cast. Smooth, supple and keeps its float. Highly recommended.

Justin, are you guys going to make it available again any time soon?

Thats it!...I have heard enough. I Have been looking at these reels, (alpha II, for an 8 WT), fo a while now and I gotta get one. Just got back from Belize, and I think wifey would like to get into fly casting, (after watching me for hrs. on the flats). This is the one. I'm currently doing a little time in Afghanistan working for the govt. and will have to wait to see it when we get back to central america in Aug. I will have it shipped to the states then meet up w/ her later. Thanks for all the reviews on the product, I think this is the winner, winner lobster dinner.

OK, wifey has recieved the new AllenII reel in stunning aquamarine. She absolutly loves it. Quality looks to be top notch. The reel will be loaded with a Rio Bonefish taper in 8wt and test will be in Central America in August. Bonefish, small permit, 'cuda, and the drag burning 20# jacks. Let's see if it can stop a train like that. I will give live updates while I am there as to the reel quality of this tool...Looking forward to the test-flight....

Yes, it seems big jacks are the "acid" test for all things fishy. Abundant, easy to hook up when they are around, and most of all, they will give you an all out drag burnin' slug-it-out battle untill one of you, or the quipment fails.....
