Re: G Loomis 7.5' 4wt. GL3 & 9' 6wt. Xperience
Well i'll do my best with my limited experience with it. I bought them both used two years ago, and have fished each one 3 times since then.
The Xperience i have only casted/fished with 7wt wonderline, and it was great, but I wasn't trying to cast large flies a long distance. The cork is a little soiled, but not bad. Otherwise, the condition is very good. Hardly any scratches. I felt that it had pretty good power in the butt section to handle that 7wt line. The action is pretty close to fast as they advertised, maybe a little on the moderate side of fast. It has a softer tip, that I believe provides good tippet protection (no problem with 6X). Not a real stiff rod, but its advertised as med/stiff. Personally, i think its just a good rod, just a tad on the heavy side. Easy to fish with all day though. I'm just getting rid of these because I want to upgrade to a premium level rod/rods, plus i like to try different stuff.
Yes that is a cork real seat on the GL3. Looks very sharp IMO.
