Default Need better rain dancing

We're still in a moderate drought here (NH). Even the mountain streams are as low as I've ever seen them. One I stopped at is almost not flowing at all.

Just as I set foot out of my truck, though, it started to rain. Not heavy and not enough to affect the water levels much, but at least it kept the heat down.

Used my TXL 00 wt. for this trip, along with a BVK 0 reel and DT00F line. That was a good fit for this small place.

This place is low, but still decent.

And the water temperature is still good.

The water's low now, but you have to wonder just how much water it takes to pile up big trees like this.

and this.

Whatever it takes, I don't want to be here.

The fish. They were what I expected - small wild brook trout. It's early for their fall colors, but they still come in quite a range of colors.

We have been in the same boat but have gotten at least a little bit of rain the last 3 days. I took this picture yesterday while shopping at an outdoor mall in Columbus. 90+ degree weather for over a month without any rain is bringing on a very early fall.

They were falling all around us like it was late October.

Hope it gets better soon. The extreme differences across the country are hard to believe. We are lucky to go much over four days between storms. The streams have been muddy the entire season.

I was in Yosemite last week. Bridalveil falls is flowing so low that it misted out without hitting bottom.

Meanwhile in Louisiana, the rain dance is a little too effective...

Strong candidate for 'Understatement for the Day.' Watching the news, these poor folks are getting HAMMERED! Here? Another long string of days in the high 90's with a few in the low 100's.
