Leyther is on a distinguished road
Default Four days in the wilderness.

This trip is one that my father-in-law has made with his friend every year for nearly three decades and my partner and I were given the opportunity to experience this wonderful place and after spending only four days there, I can understand why they go back every single year.

We spent four days backpacking and fly-fishing in the wilderness area of Saguache County. The first few pictures will give you an idea of location.

The following were taken while fishing the river in the second picture above. We must have caught 25-30 fish each during our time here, the majority of them were browns, but we also caught some cutthroats and brook trout. We were mainly using a hopper-dropper rig, but also had luck using Adams and PMDs.

We then hit a couple of beaver ponds which held mostly brook and cutthroat, unfortunately due to how spread out we were, there are no pictures of our catches, however my partner caught the largest brook at 15 inches. Here are some pictures of where we fished.
