This week, an official press release from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife confirmed what observant anglers had suspected for several months, the winter of 2005/2006 saw a widespread successful spawn of Rainbow Trout in the Lower Mountain Fork River.
These little fish provide tangible proof that the combined efforts of the ODWC, Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation, 89'er and Tulsa TU Chapters and fly fishing clubs throughout Oklahoma and Texas is paying off.
If you are excited by the possibility of catching wild Rainbow Trout within 150 miles of Dallas, TX, and would like to play an active role in the development of this fishery, contact Rob Woodruff to receive a membership form for the Lower Mountain Fork River Foundation.
