Ah that dirty little dog... Was curious how that stream was holding up while I was out today... Looks a lot different than when I fished it Sunday... Did you stumble upon the Goldfish?

No goldfish. Probably wouldn't have seen him, even if he was right up at the surface. It was pretty muddy.

That dog was great. He didn't get into the water, which made him a great fishing partner. He did bark at a few of the trout, and licked one. He was having as much fun as I was I think.

So frustrating yesterday... Two sections of streams that I've put some time into over the years has a complete overhaul thanks to mother nature and the rain we got last week that resulted in the removal of the remainder of snow we had left... 1 section holes were filled in... holes were scoured... and the stream widened by at least 5'... Not even the same section anymore... Didn't see any spooked fish either... Hopefully I just didn't see them... The 2nd stream had some positives at first... some bends were cleared up of brush that had built up... But one of my favorite infamous holes(have lost a lot of flies in this hole) is completely gone! It's so frustrating and the frustration is probably what led me to a skunk on the day...

Lots of nice small streams in this thread. Here's a few pics of small arizona streams I have fished for over forty years.

There's a sacred mountaintop to the wht mtn apache where two small streams form from snow fed springs. The headwaters are a very special place where only wht mtn apache are allowed to go. There's four miles of stream below that point where everyone is allowed. I wrote a poem in humor about a stream side meet I went to there many years ago. One guy went a little too far up the hill and came back in a state of euphoria.

Some tennessee sour mash
And a little sonoran stash
Takes me to the past
What a blast
Who can cast

Don't do a lot
Near that sacred mountain top
Or you might find that
You come right back
With some flowers in your hat
