-Chris: That spot looks really nice. The scenery combined with the nice little stream and plenty of brook trout make it a prime spot.

Here are some pics from a little stream me and my brother fish.

The stream is on some land in northern, ny where me and my brother used to hunt. Perfect little backwoods stream with wild browns and brookies. The section we fished in these pictures had a lot of nice little pockets and small waterfalls.

My favorite skinny water is often overlooked by folks heading to more well known destinations. It typically runs at about 45cfs and offers everything from 3' wide channels to spread out runs.

Depending on when you go, you may have to brave stinging nettle and/or the resident rattlesnakes. But, when you are on the water, it's well worth it- 10-14" browns all day long. With a TXL 1wt, it makes for an epic session. Here's some pics of my son & I enjoying the water....

Great thread that speaks to my heart!!!

Can you tell us the name of that snow capped mountain in pic #1?

This is from a well known spot less than an hour from Los Angeles. Caught on a 7'6" 3wt using a #18 parachute BWO. The rod is too much for this spot.

I thought I'd add another. This is my home water- a federally designated Wild Trout Stream. It's about 10 minutes from the house and is pretty much my church. I enjoy clearing out the stress, getting slowed down, and working things out on this water. The trout are not too shabby, either!

Wow Creeker, you are a lucky man to have such a place spitting distance from your back door. I dont think i would ever get anything done around the house if i had that in my back yard.
