Not sure I can claim to have wandered to this stream, barely 10 minutes from the house I'm staying in, never more than 50 yards from a US Hwy and I was probably no more than 150 yards from my truck at any point in time.

Not convinced all the fish I caught were wild, but the colors on the smaller ones certainly suggested in stream breeding.

Fished the Tucannon some more this past weekend. Had several of these smolts hit my fly and decided they would eat anything. I didn't know what they were until after talking to someone. He thinks they were either Steelhead or Chinook.

Heard that Jack Salmon had made it back to the Tucannon hatchery--pretty amazing considering the rivers travelled to make it back.

Only got out once last week and I saw more snakes (2) than trout (0).

Scouted a new creek with my dog yesterday, went back today alone and found some wild rainbows, up to about 7 inches.

Last week held a bit of magic for me. My closest creek is still moving very swiftly in the lower sections, but up higher found gorgeous browns with dry flies under canopy.
Brown trout, mink tracks, mayfly hatch (~18), butterflies sunning, & stoneflies. Even was able to help a new young fisherman after I got to my truck with a few flies, tips, and encouragement for fishing gin clear water. Took another wander to a new piece of water for me. Felt sure I'd fine some wild brook trout in the headwaters ...so much for that, not a sign of a fish...back lower down I found some pretty little rainbows and a stray brown.

Might of been one of the more scenic creeks I've explored in a while.

Found a gem of a tributary on Sunday. Loads of 18+" browns. Plan to head back as soon as we can.

Awesome fish zjory! A couple of my best fish have been on small streams. Here are two streams that I have found recently that I absolutely love!

Both of these streams are within about 1.5hrs from me. There are a number of beaver dams that provide some deep pools. I love these smaller streams!

EDIT: here is another pic of that first stream that shows the size of it
