Whitefish arn't getting enough love around here. Here's to the fish that has saved many a cold day of fishing, and given you a good fight while they saved the day...

Okay, so my son really just picked this one up out of the water, but it sure makes for a great 'grip-and-grin' shot.

We were fishing the Owyhee River in Oregon last year at this time and this big old channel cat was laying upside-down in some rocks mid-stream. We tried to revive him, but to no avail.

My accidental Bass. 20" and nearly 4 lbs. New to Fly Fishing last fall, I was just practicing casting close to home in the Nanticoke Creek, about 1/8 mile from its mouth on the Susquehanna River. Had a cheesy fake bug casting across a riffle and just as I started my strip, bang. I just kept chanting, "don't break off". Last cast of the day and by the time I landed her it was dark. That's why the poor pic. My first Bass on a fly, and biggest fish so far. [

I bet this is the first sculpin posted here! This 4" trophy fish was caught in the South Fork of the Snake River. Might actually be the state record since most are about 1-2" long hahaha. It actually put up a bit of a fight for such a small fish.

Thanks Thorsten, a perfect day indeed! I have a 10 year old son who is just into fly fishing, let's see if we can achieve a triple for our next trip...
