Default Re: Caught a Bat mid cast...!!

I've never caught a bat on a fly, but I have a related experience. Once while out fishing I noticed a bat suspended on about a 3ft section of tippet. Apparently he honed in on a fly that had been dangling off of the tree branch. Short of grabbing the thing, I messed around with the piece of dangling tippet on tthe end of my rod and the bat fell off and hit the water. If the story ended how I would have like, a 24" brown would have gobbled him up; but he just splashed down and flew away.
