Default Exciting Day Today on the Savage River!

Too warm to hunt so I headed to the river. Caugth 2 rainbows, 1 brook and this brown. (Grand Slam). Caught this one in a long slow clear pool that is extremely hard to catch a fish in. In fact, this was my first one in this section. Tried an Adams, Grey Midge, Cream Midge, Griffith's Gnat and a generic grey fly. Finally tried something bigger with a Cahill Parachute and first cast and wham! Biggest fish of the season and this river produces all wild browns and brook trout so I was excited!

Not a good picture of myself but I was in a hurry to get him back in the water! Used the self timer.

The colors on that brown are beautiful! The spotting up by the gill plates in particular are very eye-catching.

I was fishing in the pool above the upper suspension bridge. Do a PM to me and I'll tell you some places to fish there.
