Found that fella by Shady Cove, thought it might look familiar.
Really desperate to get back up there but I got a new job and it's cutting into my fishing time. We'll see how long that lasts.

Dave & Carl,

Both of those fish are beautiful, I haven't caught one that large ever! I was aching to get the chance this fall but so far the season is on hold with the flooding. I am hoping things will be better in a week.

And the fight of these compared to the Trinity fish I was use to. was unbelievable! Not just bigger.. but feisty!
Is that Travis with the fish?

Hey Ard best part was I landed that fish with the little battenkill 5/6 reel.
So now I have a big fish little reel story of my own.

My first ever visit to Salmon River today, first time on a real river. Had a friend acting as guide to show me the good spots. Set me up on a pool at "Ballpark", which was hot (8 hookups in 90 minutes, a mix of steelies and kings). The 6th hookup resulted in a protracted battle with me at one point reeling the wrong way letting the steelie run me to my backing, but I got my wits back and walked him down 3 pools to get him netted. 9' 8 weight on a pink streamer. An amazing day. super happy.

He'd bee on the stringer an hour when I took this photo, so not as nice looking as when I first nabbed him. I'll work on my photo staging as well.

I was at Ballpark Sunday. Lots of fish ! Too crowded for me headed back down to the estuary. Glad you had success.

I'm not entirely sure I had woke up yet when this photo was taken. Totally worth the pre-class trip out to dilute the work week.
