San Juan Ant Fall Yesterday
[img2="left"]http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/photos/files/4-FoamFly_thumb.gif[/img2]The ants fell yesterday on the San Juan River in New Mexico.
This usually happens in June/July after the first big rain of the season. Hundreds of large Carpenter Ants are driven from their underground home, swarm the air and fall into the river, causing the fish to feed on anything that is big and black. It is during the ant fall that we see very large wary trout feeding on the surface with reckless abandon. It is truly something not to be missed.
