I was just at Gribben yesterday actually. A tougher creek, but they've removed some trees so it's not as bad now as it once was. Diamond is tricky as well. It will be running at a trickle with the low water we've got right now.

I tend to avoid the main branch of the Root, unless I'm looking for smallies. It does hold some big trout though.

Duschee is a nice little creek, even though it sees a lot of pressure. Last years 30 inch brown getting taken from below the hatchery didn't help it's cause at all. The upper reaches is my favorite though.

Heck, if you're just 15 miles from Lanesboro, you're in great territory! Lot's of good water down your way. Forestville, Canfield and the SB of the Root are all fantastic. Plus all of the other feeder streams around there.

Yeah, just a worm on a hook. Honestly, I don't care what method was used to catch that brute. It was one heck of a fish (and wild to boot, according to Klotz).

Fished SB Root yesterday, got into a nice hole biggest was 14" brown and I had one snap my line under a root ball, very big fish my guess is it was over 20" by the way it bent my pole over and snapped my line. Duschee was slow yesterday but my wife and I still managed to catch a few, wife ended up with a beautifully colored 12" brown... Pretty cool.
