Default Where's the Water?

I just enjoyed 5 days in the eastern Sierras where conditions were the lowest I've seen them in 20 years of adventures. We still managed to find cold water flowing, albeit a mere trickle of what is prime fall levels.

This trip was mostly about camaraderie. A buddy of mine joined me who hasnt had a 'guys' trip in over 2 years. It was nice to be out with someone who was an experienced flytosser, and with the same "let's fish from sunrise to sunset" attitude.

Here's a few sites from the adventure.

Creeker,

Those types of trips are the best. Dudes just being dudes, catching fish, good food and beers. That is beautiful scenery. You can't beat the eastern sierra. I know what you mean though, it better rain and snow a bunch this winter. Even the streams on the west slope are really low.

Love the san joaquin! Great place to get away and find some wild fish. Its a shame about all the tree damage it suffered this year but Im sure it will rebound fine. Hopefully next year will bring a little snow as well. I find it amazing how one year you can have record snowfall and the next barely anything.

Is that first pic at hot creek?

It's actually Convict Creek. As to the trees.... It was humbling. I saw evidence of it earlier in Yosemite when Postpile was still shut down. That did not prepare me for the amount of damage in the Monument. It really was catastrophic. Lots of trees down along the trails, the water, etc. A real humbling experience in the face of nature.

BTW, NickNick, if you roll eastward towrads lake Arrowhead and want to hit some water, that's my neighborhood.
