Default Wind River Range Trip 2012

In early August, my friend and I took our 2nd annual trip to the Wind River Range. This year we went out of Pinedale, and the Meadow Lake Trailhead, and put in well over 40 miles on foot to get to Golden Trout. We knew this trip wouldn't produce the number or size of fish that our last trip did, but the goal was a Golden for each of us, along with catching fish from at least 10 different lakes. It took 6 full days to get this accomplished, but it was by far the best trip either of us had ever been on.

Some photos from the trip.

WOW! You caught the whole lot. Cutties, browns, brookies, and goldens (technically a rainbow trout of sorts). Looks awesome. And the brown trout (or is it a cuttie?) and that last golden are pigs!

Congrats on a great trip report and gorgeous photos and fish! I just love the Winds, but I'm too old to do what you guys just did......wish I knew how fantastic that range was when I was younger.

Your pictures were wonderful and your sense of adventure combined with your energy is admirable! I would have to stay a week if I walked 20 miles to the destination
