Re: Winter Fishing In Idaho - Part II Or, How To Wipe A Bad Day Off The Map
Okay, I have an update as to the fly that we used to catch so many fish on this outing. The night before we headed out I decided to tie something simple for a mysis shrimp since we would be fishing below a reservoir with a strong mysis population. I had been tying up some simple midge patterns and just went with the concept in order to come up with the mysis pattern and it seems to have been a hit.
KG's South Fork Mysis:
Hook: Dai Riki 135 Scud hook, size 18
Bead: 3/32 Silver
Thread: Monofilament tying thread, size x-small
Tail: One strand of pearl Krystal Flash
Abdomen: First wrapped with pearl Krystal Flash and then over-wrapped with clear monofilament tying thread
Thorax: Pearl Ice Dub
Kelly.
