Jocelin,
The fly that was used the most was basically an oversized clouser minnow, but with synthetic hair, versus standard deer hair, doing the pause strip very slowly to keep the flies down in the zone. Anything really that resembles one of their favorite baitfish and that is the smelt (which is a non-native species btw), but the lakers like them. Almost all the flies have flash, lots of white with some kind of bright contrast color. Single or tandem hooks.

We use intermediate sinking lines and sink tip lines. The lake is very clear, so they can see quite a distance in water column and most fish will chase a fly for a good distance.
