Default Streamer Express Line - Reel Capacity?

Just bought a St Croix Bank Robber Streamer Rod - 9 ft 7 Wt and find that the SA Streamer Express line is recommended in the 250 grain wt.

That line has a thin running line. Will it load a reel comparable to a 6 or 7 WF line? No idea how much room this will take on a reel or how much backing I could expect

I have a Hardy DD Ultralite 5000 Reel that might work

it has specs like this: DT5 + 75M / DT6 + 55M / WF6 + 80M / WF7 + 75M

Thanks!

Default Re: Streamer Express Line - Reel Capacity?

You will have significantly greater backing capacity when using the Streamer Express lines vs. a WF floating line. I have a 300-grain version on an 8-wt and a 200-grain version on a six weight. You will have room for more backing than you're likely to need.

If you already have a Floating line on there and are just changing lines, you'll immediately notice some breathing room on your reel. How much will depend on the reel specs and the type of backing you have. Based on those reel specs you posted, you could easily get 100 meters of 20-lb dacron or more.
