Default when is it too late

When, if ever, is it too late to throw attractor patterns (i.e. Turk tarantula, stimulators etc.)?

When the fish quit taking them.

They are always worth a try. Several late season caddis hatches, BWO etc, I have even fished hoppers into the beginning of November. It will depend on your waters and weather.

If you aren't sure, use the attractor as an indicator for either a nymph or midge dry etc.. If you catch 10 fish on everything but the attractor then I guess it's over.

oops I meant late in the season. I just always switch to streamers and/or midges, I fish a lot of winter stones too, after november 15 approx.
