Default Big Thompson

Hit my favorite honey hole that's low on the Big T today. As US 34 opens back up on Thursday and this is my home water, thought I'd start a thread I could keep updated regularly through the summer. Please chime in if you fish it.

Got out for a couple hours after work today. Runoff is in full swing and it's chocolate milk, but the bite is still hot. Jerk stripping a thin mint through slow water against the banks was the ticket.

Sweet, those are some very nice trout, congrats for getting out there in the high water and figuring out how to fish it.

Enjoy fishing during runoff as I generally have the river to myself. Catching a few nice fish is a bonus.

You won't have it to yourself for long. It's just a 30 min. drive from Longmont. I'm on my way.

I'm glad the Big T is producing well. So many human screw up on that river in the last few years. Thank goodness the trout can tolerate some of our stupidity.

Those rocks on the other side of the river look awfully familiar. I have a feeling I know where you were at, but your secret is safe with me.

It was tough for a couple years after the flood. Finally started fishing well again last summer. Even though it has a ways to go, great to see how much it's recovered already.
