my first brook trout ever!!!

This is my first brook trout ever. Caught from a spring creek in Dane county Wisconsin. Fish hit a grey scud behind a foam beetle. It was a tough creek to fish being extremely skinny and completely surrounded by tall grass and brush.

That's my kind of creek, I used to ferret them out back east mainly because I could fish alone. There are never a bunch of people crowding around something that hard to fish.

Good job Blake. I know how you feel as I just caught my very first Brown a few weeks back.

There's a couple of brooks close to me that look alot like that one, and it makes me want to go out and try 'em.

Hardyreels- I'm really enjoying the solitude, I've been fishing alot more by myself as of late. Nothing I hate more then a crowd, try the root river in wisconsin when salmon season starts. Shoulder to shoulder isn't for me!

Brookies are my favorite trout to catch! Almost the best looken trout God made, congrates on the fine catch!
