The first picture is of a dark colored up bow that my buddy caught out of a creek about 5ft wide on Saturday. The second picture is one I caught out of the North Platte on Sunday. No monsters this weekend, but some beautiful fish!

Most of the fish caught from the 5ft wide creek are browns and bows about the size you have shown. There are some 20"+ giants in there that will give you a run for your money though Small fish are great fun on small rods!

Then there is the North Platte, home of the behemoths....One day I hope to buy one of them water proof cameras that I'm not afraid of taking in the water so I can get some pics of giant rainbows without the fear of dropping my phone in the water to take a pic.

This weekend we went to a tailwater of the North Platte river in hopes of monster rainbows, but ended up settling on going to the lake above the river instead. There were waterfowl hunters near the spot we wanted to fish on some private land, and since they pay HUGE amounts of money during duck season to hunt, we decided to go to the lake instead of spooking their ducks. No monsters were landed unfortunately, but we had a great time! My buddy caught the biggest fish of the day, a 17 inch rainbow...not the monster we were looking for, but not a bad fish. I had one fish hit so hard that it immediately broke me off with 6.5lb tippet....Maybe next time I will be the winner!

A couple good looking little rainbows, both from the same lake in Nebraska.
