Breac à linne, slat à coille is fiadh à f́reach - mèirle às nach do ghabh gàidheal riamh nàire. a fish from the river, a rod from the woods and a stag from the mountain , thefts ne'er a Gael was ashamed

These were a couple of the fish caught last week on the middle patuxent in Maryland. By the end of the day, between the two of us, at least 40 fish were caught and released and even more than that were missed.
Once I figure out how to post pics, I'll get one up of the rainbow I found last week!
The forum doesn't allow you to upload a photo from your computer directly to a post. You can either use a third party site like PhotoBucket, upload your photos there, then link them to a post using the little yellow icon above the area where you type in posts. The second method is to create a photo album/gallery on this site, upload your photos there (just realize that the max size is 100 KB) and then link from the gallery to a post. Here are the detailed instructions: http://www.theflyfishingforum.com/fo...to-bucket.html
As I lament the passing of GL steelhead season, mostly from having used up the travel budget, I got this fish as a consolation prize. Only 21", but it was the first trip for my Superfine 1 wt. It did a good job protecting 6x. Caught on a sz. 20 PT softhackle in a Vt. lake.
Our recent trip to the Saugatuck River TMA was a great way to break into the season, and a testament to the Connecticut DEEP's stocking program - large fish and excess broodstock - when you hear the term 'stockies', you don't think of fish like this -
this has to be the ugliest rainbow trout ever - maybe a product of many spawns, old age, with too much time in the tank - the boys thought it was 'prehistoric' -
