I usually fish alone...never with groups...sometimes with a buddy...rarely with two buddies.

there's just something about not having to worry about anything other than what you're doing...

Till very recently I almost always fished alone. Primarily because I can count every fly fisherman in the county on one hand. I just got a friend of mine hooked on fly fishing so I have been fishing with him fairly often. He's the guy from the Canadian side of the river I posted about being an amazing natural caster. He was better than his rod and line in a week. I'll upload a picture of him with a nice walleye later so you can see the Canadian in him. He hockey taped his grip.

I like the reduced crowds that come with fishing on weekdays....which also precludes fishing with anyone who has a 'normal' job. As such, nearly all of my most memorable fish were caught entirely alone: first permit, first sailfish, etc, etc.

Occasionally a friend will be along but I don't require others to be there to have a good time fishing.

The two buddies I used to fish with for years have died, so now I fish alone.

I think about them when I'm out there though!

I'll fish with my regular fishing partner Ray, we typically stay a distance away from one another simply because we do like our solitude. It is good to have someone around when I stop for lucn and we chat about what is working for us. There are grizzle bears around so the extra eyes are good as well. I seldom if ever fish in a group of any more than three and that is because my Son comes along sometimes.

I like to fish with my friend. It give me somebody to to talk about sports, girls, whatever. He also now goes to another school so we dont talk that mush anymore so it gives us time to catch up. But fishing along is really peaceful and relaxing. But i perfer with a friend.
