We got 8 inches this week, with another 10-15 predicted for this weekend...looks like we're finally getting our snow!

Vail just opened the back bowls and Blue Sky Basin. I won't be fishing this weekend either, gotta scratch that powder itch that I've had all winter!

I took these two very different looking cutts from the exact same station at Dreary Lake - one of the Fall Creek Lakes, high up in the Beartooths. The second fish looks to be a cutbow hybrid, but I am no expert.

Beautiful fish and even more beautiful country.

Last year I had the opportunity to fish for cutthroat in Yellowstone with my grandfather. I caught one fish over the 10 hours we fished, but it was worth it. They're quite the fighters for their size compared to the brookies we have here.

Hopefully I can get back out there again.
