Default bugs are crazy!

Ive been slowly going thru my photobucket albums and cleaning out all the riff raff. I found some bug pic's that I thought were kinda cool.

This monstrosity was on Klamath lake. I was in my float tube and this thing gave me the creeps. It's at least 3" long!

My buddy harvested a fat 16" rainbow from a high mountain lake. This was its stomach contents! These chironomids were mostly alive and hatching and flying off. LOL

This is a photo of my buddies waders after fishing Montana's Anaconda retention ponds.

Those are some interesting pics. I should have checked a fish's stomach last weekend but it was all C&R. I guess we could have pumped one.

Thinking that 1st one might be a giant American water beetle.
I have one in my collection....
Tied one up, hooked a big rainbow on the first cast.
They aren't all about dries....
Try one on a sinking line some time......

Is that a meal or what?
Often found in lakes, but I found mine on Lost creek near Hat creek CA.
Wouldn't want one of those in your shorts......
Small fish must have nightmares.....

They are also known as "toe biters."

I goggled them and here is what I found. They apparently are a delicacy in Asia.
