I'm new here and to the sport of fly fishing and need a little advice. I'm looking at picking up my first fly reel and am a little overwhelmed with all of the "technology" that goes into some of these reels.

What I'm really looking for is a reliable trout reel for my 5wt rod. I doesn't seem like I need super strong drag, so I think I've decided on a click/pawl reel. When it comes down to it, is there really a difference between a $99 and a $300 reel. Or will any reel to the trick? It seems the rod is where I should spend a little more. I am taking into consideration made in the USA vs. overseas. I got 100yd's of backing and WF5F line and many different leader. 4x,5x,6, and I believe 0.010 and many different scientific angler tippet. What's the best combo I should use if I intend on using the rod mostly for fishing small creeks and rivers for mostly trout. My father left it behind when he passed away. It has never been used. From my research, it looks to be the 1983, "made in Argentina" model, built for saltwater. I have plenty of gear, and don't plan to use this reel. Was thinking about getting rid of it, but I don't have a clue what to ask for. Any help? Thanks!
