Hi to all,
Come on, only one fly on all of the waters in the lower 48.: Impossible, but If you include Alaska it would be a Wollybugger in black. If we don't include Alaska, then I would pick the Prince Nymph. It darn sure would not be a dry fly.Frank

A bugger would indeed be hard to beat. I'd prolly go with a diff't color, but size 10 buggers catch lots of fishes.
A size 10 version of my soft hackled diving caddis would be a close second for me though.

I'd go with a size 8-10 bead head Wooley Bugger with Flashabou, & in either black or blue.. I read that blue is the last color visible in diminishing light & I've used it in deep water but not often enough to determine if it performs better than any other color. I know it will catch as many fish as black in 3-4 ft.of water..Any one else experiment with favorite color flies.???
