Re: 2 wt fly line
Anyone ever heard of Northern Sport Aquanova 99 Series flyline? I've never heard the name, but found it on a website for $13.95. It is available in WF2F.

I also got them to confess that they make the Hook & Hackle line for them and it's the peach line in olive. Boone.........The Clear Creek shouldn't be sticky at all. It's basically a peach line that doesn't have that problem. The sylk is the line with that problem, but to be honest. I've had at least 6-7 sylk lines, and only one of them was sticky. It's a great line in the winter, because it's so supple. Most lines have a coiling problem in real cold weather. Although the peach line is very good too and is much better in hot weather. I think the Clear Creek is a good choice. It has a 4' tip. If it doesn't turn over like you want it to, you can start to trim the tip back until you like it. The peach's tip is only 6". As mentioned, the Rio Selective Trout II is another great line. I like Rio better that SA lines. The Rio seems to float better.

Re: 2 wt fly line
hook and hackle sells the listed $53.50 Sylk line at $48.15 if you order it online through their online ordering process. the cortland clear creek listed at $51.36 sells for $46.22. many items are discounted that way. their hi floater line sells for $30. all including the classic peach offered in 2wt.
if you wanted a premium (discontinued) line at a great price, check out this ebay auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/RIO-Selective-Tr...QQcmdZViewItem eric fresno, ca. |
