Any good reads lately??

I just finished "Snake River Country" which was a mildly entertaining story of a highschool football quarterback and his summer job on the railroad ranch on Idaho's Henrys Fork. That one pretty much ended my current stock and I'm looking for any recommendations for good fly fishing books. Not so much the technical books but just entertaining stories or historical stuff on on the topic of fly fishing or fly tying.......

I read Ed Van Put's "Trout Fishing in the Catskills" a few weeks ago. Beginning in the 1700's, it's a good historical account of the development of Catskills trout fishing. Interesting stories and history on folks like Theodore Gordon and others.

Ed's book, The Beaverkill, is also very good.

You might want to read The Earth is Enough by Harry Middleton. One of the great books. He also wrote others that are very good. Doc

Re: Any good reads lately??

How about "A Wedding gift" by John Taintor Foote.

3 relative short stories about a dry fly fishing fanatic, and another by the late authors son.
Entertaining and lighthearted stories.
