Denny Breer has passed away....

Green River guide and Owner of Trout Creek flies/Green River Outfitters has passed away.
Rest in Peace Denny.

Heres a post from their website.

Denny Breer:
A legend in the fly-fishing world. The top advocate for the trout fishing on the Green River met with a very untimely death this last Thursday the 6th of November. He was working at his 2nd love in the outdoors field, his pigeons, or as he called them...his Kids. he was moving the coop just a few feet and a large gust of wind took it off the supports and it landed with Denny under it. His legacy will go on here in Utah and I'm sure throughout the Rockies area as a huge name in the fishing industry.

Denny's professional career started at a very young age in his fly-tying. He was a commercial tier and originator of many fly patterns. His guiding career began in a huge way he was working the Aniak river system in Alaska doing several day float trips throughout the summer months. in 1986 Denny moved his concentration to the Green river below Flaming Gorge Dam, although early in the year he still worked his guiding in Alaska until the Green River became more known so he was able to totally commit to the Flaming Gorge area. From that point on he immersed his efforts into making his Trout Creek Flies Guide service a very successful enterprise. In 2001 late in the year he purchased Green River Outfitters and it's operation site so he now had our present store and a first rate spot to operate out of.

There are many questions in the fly-fishing area wondering if we are going to close the doors. Denny's wife Grace says "know way we're giving up Denny's dream. We will press on and commit to supplying the fishermen on the Green River."

Re: Denny Breer has passed away....

Denny was a great guy, and an amazing guide with a very deep love and knowledge of the Green.
I met him around 1990 when a friend on mine from Kentucky introduced us, he had floated with Denny many times before.
We were fishing and camping on the Green late in the year and the few places to eat were closed and/or only open on the weekends, Denny and his wife Grace offered to feed us breakfast and dinner while we were camping. I enjoyed listening to him talk about the river and his adventures while guiding. He was a very nice guy, and his wife Grace is a wonderful cook.

You will certainly be missed Denny.
