Re: Elk Hair Emerger

I like the way you guys think! I got a new "hook" last fall in a Tikka .300 WSM....cheaper than my Sage SLTs and it was just the ticket for one in December. 180 grain Accubond, but shells are 44 bucks for a box of 20! Gotta get the dies and start reloading. Tenderloins with a white wine gravy or green chili smothered burritos it's all good! I also have enough hair for a lifetime's worth of elk hair caddis. Besides being a flyfishing nut, I'm also an elkoholic. Truly awesome animals!

Give me a .300 Winchester (or a .338) and we'd be golden. Don't know that I'd want to back cast with that sucker on there.....

philthy,
Did you get that pic in an e-mail with a bunch of other pics of the Elk crossing a lake?
I recieved it that way and supposidly it was taken at a Lake n/e of me about an hour and a half.
Just curious as to what your e-mail said.....
They are truly a majestic animal.

Fyshstykr,

Nah, it was an email with the same subject as this post. It isn't a bad bull, though. While I love to chase them in the fall, just the stinky smell any time of year is great. Now, it's almost time to start looking for some turkey feathers for my material collection

Phil
