Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

Even if i was confident enough with my casting to wear a kilt---in our warm water you'ld look pretty silly sitting with your knees together picking the leeches off your legs.

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

.... I can think one one situation where wearing a kilt might be an advantage.... and I'm sure many of you can relate, especially those that wade the flats

Nature has the tendency to call at less than convenient instances.
One less step in the process could make things a lot easier

....For some reason I'm reminded of what my father use to tell me about spelling
"In words like 'knot' or 'knife' the K is silent.... just like the P in swimming"

Lift a skirt to take a leak? Not going to happen.

Dropping waders is not a big deal.

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

In all actuality, I cannot think of anything more ridiculous then this idea.

I am really trying to see the upside but there is not one.

Some bad ideas come along from time to time, but this one takes the cake.

A dress for fishing. Whatever.

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

Don't Be Ridiculous ..... That's one silly idea. Just wear a pair of thin shorts. If I'm going wet wading I'll wear a pair of thin pants that you can zip off the legs . I have a few pair with the swimsuit briefs in them & They Dry quickly ...

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

This has been one of the more intellectual dialogues thus far. I have been laughing so hard it hurts! I now think I would like trying this fishing in a kilt but only if fishing by myself in a remote location.

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

Now fly tying in a kilt- there's something that I think I can get into
Maybe you can make a kilt for that instead, since there aren't too many folks here that think a fly fishing kilt will be a big hit. Just a thought

Re: Fly Fishing in a Kilt?

Hi to all,

I can't believe how much interest this thread has produced.

I would wear one if it came with a free Salmon fishing trip to Scotland.
