Good and a bad days

I love having those good days...and then there are the bad ones
Ever fish new water or a new section of water and end up in the very hole you were looking for? That makes me nuts! I read the water- and I'm thinking I read it pretty well- but whenever I'm fishing a new area, I find myself in a hole thinking "This is exactly where I would be if I were a trout- dame it!" The good thing is that when I go back to that water I keep in mind what I've learned and find that hole before I end up standing in it. This is just a rant I guess, but I'm hoping I'm not the only one that still ends up standing in a hole after a few years of fly fishing under their belts.

Re: Good and a bad days

Good to hear others walk through the best spots also, Rip Tide. This week I had a great time fishing small streams. It was definitely full of good days, even though 10" were the largest trout I caught. Bit again, I did find myself literally walking in to some nice pools, where the larger trout might have been hanging. In the end, you are correct, Doubletap- I'm not sure if there are really bad days when it comes to trout fishing.
