Re: korkers? how are they?

went out today and got skunked but tried the ducttape and it made it half way across the 1st riffle and then came off. lol
I got my korkers in the mail. these are way better built than my other canvas top old wader boots. they were a pain to put the sole in the 1st time but then I realized its better to stomp down to get the sole locked in. if they come undone I will be surprised! don't know why but korkers gave me 2 different soles that are different rubber lugs and no felt bottoms came with um? this is fine with me tho cause I am used to lug soles. for $48 bux total they r well worth it! will let ya know how they work next time out.

Re: korkers? how are they?

George,

Those are the same Korkers Konvertibles that I bought earlier. You're right - just stamp down on them to seat the soles. Yours should have come with a rubber lug sole and a felt sole, but perhaps the close-out pair you got didn't come with felt. You can buy extra soles for this model. I've used both studded felt and studded Aquastealth with good results. In fact, since this model's been replaced by Korkers' second generation interlocking sole technology, you may want to consider picking up an extra set or so of soles while you can get them, since one of the main advantages of these boots is that you don't have to toss them out when the sole material's worn out.

Hope you like them as much as I have. The only reason I bought a pair of the second generation was that I put on so much weight that I had to get a larger size. As I mentioned earlier, the second generation sole is much harder to interchange for me, although I understand they "improved" the interlock because of problems by some Konvertibles users with their soles coming loose (a problem I never had). My only regret is that I didn't spend the extra money and get the Guide model like BlueDun was wiser than I to do, but not because the Crosscurrent model is not good at what it does, it's just that the Guide has a faster and more customized lacing system, which would be a lot easier for me since time spent bending over messing with lacing strains my already-weak back.

Re: korkers? how are they?

I will keep a look out for more soles. I seen a site but they cost 30 bux per pair of soles. the boots only me $48... If I find some cheaper I might grab some up. I am broke right now.
