I've been building my own leaders for about 20 years
I started with an Orvis Super Strong kit, but now I mostly use Maxima Chameleon for fresh water and Climax Hard Mono in the salt.
Until recently I didn't have a blood knot jig so I got pretty good at doing them by hand
A few years ago I was given a Dennison Leader Vice. I gave it a try, but for me, it's more trouble than it's worth
