Frank,

I understand the difference between the HP and HV pumps (and wouldn't ever try to use my little HP pumps for that kind of volume)... I just don't get the cost difference. Niche products like this kill me, and I'm so hopelessly stubborn I'll half kill myself using my two way hand pump before I make the 'investment'... it's just a little air pump!

Chuck the handpump. Blow it up by mouth. Then the HVLP pump seems cheap.
40 seconds per toon with the CC's. You do have to top off with a hand pump though (that's the LP part).
I ain't pulling your leg when I say it's worth it buddy.
What sold me on it was NOT HAVING TO PUMP UP TWO CARDIAC CANYONS, OR TWO NAVIGATOR II'S by hand!
For me if it was $200 it would have been worth it.

Re: My first Pontoon Boat, looking for ideas

Well I did it! I ended up with the Foldcat 375. I found a display pro angler model for $1118.00 out the door with full warranty. Including an extra front seat riser. There is pre-drilled holes to move the rowing uprights farther front so you can row backwards. Most of the pics show the rowing setup with the seat turned around facing back but there is the other option. It's pretty tough fabric ,pvc impregnated 1000 denier.
There are many great reviews on this boat and I found several sites with a lot better pictures of the boat. My use is mostly lake fishing so I don't plan on much river running.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions. I appreciate it.
Bob

Alright, got the boat today... with the help of my 4yr old it only took me less than 1 minute per pontoon (4 pontoons) to get to operating pressure... I'm using a texsport hand pump. The same company makes several interesting electric pumps, although I'm not really sure I see the need, and this one looks like a great solution for $18... if anyone has any feedback specific to this product I would love to hear it, their hand pump kicks butt.

I can't believe they ship these things without oar rights... other than that it's a pretty slick little rig, the built in anchor system is pretty slick, seat has a wide range of adjustment, and the foot bar can be mounted in two positions as well. I think the 6' oars will be fine, some of the channels in the larger marshes around here will get tight enough. I can't wait to splash this sucker!
