myspace coming to the forum

myspace has become one of the fastest growing websites in the world. The North American Fly Fishing Forum will soon have its own myspace section.

Presently, your “Member Profile� page is pretty blah. Soon, all member profile pages will become their personal information page just like on myspace. The new page will present your information in a far cleaner and more logical manner.

This personal page will contain your contact information (if you want), forum friends, member groups, useful information, public messages, your photo album, stats, recent visitors to your myspace, as well as an “about me� section and sections for easy access to the blog and forum posts. There will also be a comment box that can be used for users to leave comments for each other (like with myspace).

Public Messaging

While private messages (PM) between users have been in available at the forum since its conception, the new forum mypage section introduces the public messaging system, allowing users to communicate publicly via their profile pages.

Personal Photo Album

Just like with myspace, you will be able to upload your own personal photo album to your profile page.

My Profile Page Customization
Members will also be able to use the profile page customization tool, which allows you to alter fonts, colors, background and borders etc. of your profile page in order to create a more personalized look to your myspace page.

User-Created Social Groups

To further social cohesion between users and to encourage people to make friends, the forum will soon include a facility to allow users to create their own social/interest groups. These groups are enhanced by having their own public messaging system, and the ability to add pictures to the group from user albums. So you can create your own group like Florida Fishing Club, Fly Tiers Club, Backpacking Fly Fishers Club, etc…

Do you mean that once the upgrade is done, the information on our profile pages will be uploaded to myspace servers?

If so, I don't think this should be done without forum member's consent.
