Need device to attach fly to leader
The eyes are failing and the fingers don't do what they did! Are there any small clips to attach flies to the leader. I change flies some what and have trouble tying the leader to the fly on the water. Old age is not for the faint at heart. Need help. Thanks Don

Re: Need device to attach fly to leader
I watched an old man on the stream a few days ago who had leaders already tied to the flies, and simply switched leaders. Seems a bit pricey to have 1 leader per fly, but he was plugging along.

Donk,
Try some of these links. They are basically snaps that might work for you. Hope this helps. Re: Need device to attach fly to leader
Many years ago when the World was young and the Druids still worshiped at Stonehenge, flies were apt to be snelled to a piece of relatively strong 6-inch mono that was finished with a loop.
Why we stopped this practice is something I will never understand ... It is a great way to prerig several setups that save lots time at streamside when changing out flies using the time proven loop-to-loop connection. The Orvis box seems perfect to me for storing these rigs ... I bought two and both are filled. Doug |
