Scott A2 is what it is, but the Orvis, isn't the 5.5 more a full flex?
I am a big fan of the 7.5. It is a perfect all around flex.

I had an A2 rod. It's a fairly stiff rod. (for me anyway). It will throw your big flies, but is just so so for a soft presentation.

Keep in mind, I hate fast/stiff rods.

Re: orvis and scott rods

I tried the A2 and like Oldman I'm a soft rod caster, swiched to the V2 and love it. My feeling is the A2 is much stiffer than the flex they say it has.
