Redington CPS combo

I just ordered a Redington CPS 9' 6wt 4pc with a RLS large arbor reel, Prestige Plus line and backing for $395 from Cabelas!
I got the next day air shipping.
I needed a good 6wt and the CPS specks look wonderful. In compare tests the CPS is ranked near the top. Almost as good as the $700 rods at less than half the price.
The last time I went to Cabelas, in Hamburg PA, they didn't have the CPS in stock so the smooth talking salesman sold me a Sage FLi instead. When I go into a fly shop I always come out with my hands full....... so online shopping is best for me! LOL
The CPS is a super fast rod and only 3.4oz while the St Croix LU is 3.7oz, just like the Sage FLi.
I'll send some pix with smallmouth and my new rod in the background.
I'm still having the time of my life with my 8wt, but the shallow water will be so much more fuy with a 6wt.
It's the top of the line Redington rod, anyone else use one?

Re: Redington CPS combo

My new outfit arrived yesterday. I simply love it!
The 9' 6wt 4pc is only 3.4oz. Lighter than all the rods under 7 beans. The Z-Axis and Helios are lighter, and better, but too much for me now.
The RLS reel is a large arbor, black aluminum with a Rulon disk drag.
I gave it a good workout yesterday and today. I like it better than my Orvis Clearwater. I guess I like a fast action with tip flex better. Beautiful high grade cork and a beautiful dark green finish.
This was my July 4th present to myself. I'm turned on about fly fishing again.
Longrods forever
