St. Croix Reign combo

what do you guys think of this combo. I was looking for a 9 foot 5 weight rod in 2 pieces for around $200. Everything i have found is 4 but i would prefer 2 pieces. Do you recommend anything else.

Re: St. Croix Reign combo

Just get the 4-piece. I was also thinking the same way when I made my purchase but I ended up with the 4-piece instead of the 2-piece. The technology is so good that there is hardly any compromise (marginally heavier). I break mine down into 2 pieces most of the time but I just got back from a camping trip and our car was packed so tightly that the compactness of the 4-piece came in quite handy.

With gas prices the way they are, I'm not seeing a bigger car (or truck) in my future.

Re: St. Croix Reign combo

Hi Eagle,
I bought a Reign 2 piece 9' 5wt this spring and love it. But if you plan on doing much traveling you would be better off with the 4 piece like Pneumatic said. If we travel we take our travel trailer so it is not a big deal for me.

Good luck,

Yukon Jack
