I picked up a pair of tight weave 100% nylon pants at REI. They were in the closeout bin for $4. They dry in just a few minutes. For wet wading they can't be beat.

Hi Guy,

Great thread. I wet wade most of the time. I'm pretty warm blooded, but do use waders when it real cold. Lauris where waders most of the time.

I wear neoprene waders. Water temps here don't often get out of the 50's which means, for an avid cold hater like me, you don't get to stay in the water long without them. I'd love to wet wade but once I'm in the river, I'm usually in for at least 4-5 hours working the river upstream. Most people I see fishing the Platte don't wear neoprene because it's too hot. I love it even though I look like a fur seal swimming upstream.

Waders is a must with me, as a Guide I like to wear the Breathable pants so that you don't sweat as much and it lets your arms move easier! If its cold I'll wear the breathable full chest waders with wool or fleese under it so that I can bend easier! Waders have came along way!!! I still have my first pair of Red Ball Waders............ remmber those heavy canvas waders????? Tight lines my Brothers!

Don't own a pair of waders... so it's wet wading for me 100% of the time. Waders are near the top of my list of gear to buy next summer.
