What would choose for a 5wt setup ??

Good Day to All,

Just was thinking what my ideal 5wt flyrod setup would
be if money was no problem.

What about you ? Do you have a favorite rod/reel/line
combination.

Try to break it down with just the rod & reel.

What are your dreams for the "perfect" 5wt setup.

Always in the Water,
Tie One On

Re: What would choose for a 5wt setup ??

My 5wt is a Sage 5wt 9' XP 4pc matched with Ross Evolution 2 reel. It's a great combo and I can't say enough about it. I also have a 6wt for big water, chucking heavier streamers on sinking line, smallmouth bass fishing with poppers, clausers, etc.

The XP's are on sale all over the internet right now because they've been discontinued. I just checked on Theflyshop.com website and they still have the 2 pc 590 rods for $428 and they're out of the 4pc. They used to be in $550 range. I looked at some other websites and the 5wt's are already gone.
