Re: Whats Your hat when fishin'?
An old faded OD green jungle hat (type issued by the military at one time) with a chin strap for windy days. You'll also sometimes see me wearing my straw cattleman's hat if it's really sunny and dry out.

Baseball cap. When I go to a shop, and they're helpful, I'll buy their shop cap. I feel a little advertising is fine. Some of the caps are pretty nicely designed.

I wear a Simms baseball cap but they have every kind of hat you could want and it is hard to beat their products.

Re: Whats Your hat when fishin'?
I'd be glad to model a Simms cap but they seem to only make them in little-noggin sizes.
When its hot, I wear something big and straw/palm to shade my pale scalp/face/neck. In colder weather, I pick different options that shade my eyes but fit under a hood.

Re: Whats Your hat when fishin'?
That is a good point on the Simms hats BigCliff. I assume you are talking about the fitted caps (which I have tried on). The adjustable caps fit great in my opinion and I don't wear anything smaller than a size 7 1/2....basically I have a huge melon. It is hard for me to even find a good adjustable baseball style cap that fits right.
They usually don't come down far enough on my head. The Simms caps do. I also have a couple of Penn Reels hats from my days of living on the water in Florida and they fit great as well. |

Re: Whats Your hat when fishin'?
Dood, I wear a 7 7/8. The simms hats are too shallow and fit me like a yarmulke. Doesn't look quite as funny as this one though.
![]() Oddly enough, I was just thinking today that it would be hilarious to have a pet pig named Murray Rabinowitz.
