Fly Fishing for Crappie, The Sac-a-laitheres another lil article I seen. basically its not too much of an article, but a couple paragraphs. its more of talking about this fly to use for crappies than about crappie fishing, says its catches loads of um! I am bout to make me a few and try um out for other stuff till the crappies get here. if you are interested in fly fishing for crappies I would check it out and maybe make a few of um up. well heres the page. Re: Lookin for crappie fly fishing info.
It has been my experience that crappie (we call them speckled perch in Florida) aren't too picky. The hardest thing to do is find them when they're suspended.
I use my Myakka Minnow, my Speckulator and small nymphs for them. On Tuesday, I caught a speck that probably went 1 1/2-1 3/4 pounds on a No. 12 nymph.

Re: Lookin for crappie fly fishing info.
hi Jim
I either use a chatruse and white clouser or a white maribou but the trick is detecting the strike---ill use a slow hand twist retrieve and hold the rod steady and watch the entry point of the line on the surface---if it moves toward the fly a half inch---thats the strike. I live in a marina and fish the docks in the spring and catch them on every cast.
