nice smallmouth on the fly

caught this nice smallmouth bass today . went for steel again but seemed they were few and far between. buddy caught one steelhead but I didn't. I threw on the lake erie sshiner clouser minnow and casted to this deep hole filled with rocks. saw a smallie chase the clouser but stop. I casted again and when it got past him he just turned and killed it!!! put up a decent fight. heres a pic. its the biggest I ever got in the river and on a fly rod.

Don't know if this will work with your waders, but the Orvis one way was to run a flashlight on the inside, when you see a white light, there is the hole.
Also, something about alcohol and water in a sprayer. Maybe someone know about this.

Re: nice smallmouth on the fly

I will give that a try! good idea. I will give it a try and try to hold it in the washroom tub to see if I see a leak., these are just cheap rubber hip waders. they were 20 or 30 bux. I can always just get some more if need be.

Re: nice smallmouth on the fly

Nice smallmouth! We don't have very many in our slower muddier creeks, just largemouths everywhere. Your bass should be year round residents in the creeks unlike the steelhead.
