Surf fishing in S.C

Anyone have any tips for fishing on the surf/beach? We are heading down to Edisto Island and I am taking my 12 wt and a reel to match. Looking to hook into any fishing porn that will bite! A buddy fo mine has a bunch of salty flies I am taking.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Surf fishing in S.C

I lived in Charleston for 27 years, but never fly fished the surf there. Sometimes around this time of year you can catch pompano in the surf using a fly that looks like a sand flea. Do not know if that is a possibility, but contact one of the tackle shops in that area for best info.
