Re: What is your favorite bass?

Hi to all,

I have been lucky enough to catch at least one of all the bass that has been mentioned. I make my choice not on how they fight or run but where their home waters are mostly located. That is the Smallmouth. I like them for the same reason I like to fish for big trout. It has to do with the wonderful rivers and beautiful lakes up north where you find the best Smallmouth fishing.

Whoops, I haven't caught a Guadalupe Bass. When I was in Texas I wasn't aware of the Guadalupe Bass. They were just starting with the Florida Strain Bass in protected lakes. Man, that sure worked for them.

Frank

Re: What is your favorite bass?

All of my younger life fishing with my Father was spent by
targeting Largemouth, Walleye & Bluegill.

Now that I am older & Dad is gone I am a Smallmouth Junkie !!!!!

I have faught many varieties of fish over the years, but pound for
pound these babies are awesome fighters. (Steelhead, what we in
Michigan fondly call Chrome Torpedos, are just as good for a fight)

I only wish the Lord would have made Smallmouth to grow as big as
some of our Steelhead. WOW, what a fight that would be. :-)

I like the fight a hybrid striper gives ya. I have not caught a striper on a fly. I enjoy largemouth bass...but have never caught a smallmouth. To me any kind of bass if fun to catch.
